Following Hurricane Ian's devastation, the goal is to rebuild and modernize the 330-acre South Seas Island Resort while preserving the island’s charm and improving long-term resilience. This includes updating infrastructure, enhancing amenities, and meeting FEMA compliance standards.
The resort faced widespread damage, and the rebuild required navigating complex permitting, FEMA regulations, and local resistance to increased building heights and density. Balancing construction with ongoing resort operations added another layer of complexity.
We are leading a phased redevelopment approach. New buildings will be elevated for flood protection, and major additions like the Captiva Landing waterpark and upgraded restaurants will be carefully integrated. Sustainability and community input are central, ensuring that the project aligns with both environmental and local expectations.
A soon to be revitalized resort offering an elevated guest experience, stronger infrastructure against future storms, and renewed economic energy for Captiva Island. The project will blend modernization with the timeless spirit of the island.
